What is a Haldi Ceremony?
The Haldi ceremony, also known by some as Pithi, is a preparation ceremony, typically held the day before the main wedding.
It involves rubbing turmeric (haldi), mixed in oil and water, to the couples face & body. It acts as a skin exfoliant to liven the skin before the wedding, and is viewed as a blessing to the Bride and Groom before the wedding.
Baraat Lineup
Please arrive at the Penha Longa Hotel lobby to line up at 3:00pm. The Baraat will begin promptly at 3:30pm
Bring the energy & hype the groom up as he parades his way to the ceremony location!

What is a Baraat?
A baraat is a vibrant and festive wedding procession in Indian weddings, particularly in Hindu traditions. It involves the groom arriving at the wedding venue with his family and friends, often dancing along the way to lively music, accompanied by drummers or a DJ. Traditionally, the groom arrives on a decorated horse, but modern baraats sometimes feature cars, carriages, or even elephants.
The baraat symbolizes the groom's journey to meet his bride and is an opportunity for his family to celebrate his upcoming union. It’s often full of high energy, dancing, and colorful attire, creating a joyful and memorable experience before the formal wedding rituals begin.
Join us for a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony of Anuj & Petra as they merge their lives, cultures, and families in a celebration of love and unity.

You will be guided to the Monastery Gardens first, where we will serve traditional Indian street food starters and drinks.
Following the cocktail hour, you will be led inside to enjoy choreographed dances performed by loved ones.
We will then open the doors to dinner, where you will experience the many amazing flavors of Indian cuisine from multiple regions.
Be sure to stick around after, as we continue to celebrate the newlyweds dancing the night away to Bollywood-inspired beats!
Petra & Anuj debut as a married couple!! Bring your best dance moves to celebrate and get down with #Anutra.
